Over a minor girl's work on Ravi Teja's Irumudi, Telangana's labour officials have served a notice on Mythri Movie Makers, the film's producers. Mythri has been called to an inquiry on Wednesday, 4 November, and asked to bring records on permissions, working hours and pay.

Labour officials in Telangana have served Mythri Movie Makers, which produced Ravi Teja’s Irumudi, with a notice over a minor girl’s work on the film’s sets and at its publicity events. Shiva Nirvana directed Irumudi, which opened in theatres on 21 August 2026.

The notice followed a complaint that child labour rules had been broken. The complaint reached the Telangana Labour Department on 24 October.

Records the department wants

Under the rules, no child can work on a film unless the District Magistrate has first approved it. Officials have asked Mythri to show that approval, along with the written consent of the girl’s parents and records of her hours and attendance. They have also sought details of how her schooling was handled while the film was being made, and of the steps taken to keep her safe on set.

The inquiry also covers her pay. The rules say 20 per cent or more of a child artist’s earnings must be set aside as a fixed deposit held in the child’s own name, and officials have asked whether Mythri made that deposit. Her role at the film’s publicity events falls within the inquiry as well.

Hearing on Wednesday

The Ranga Reddy Zone’s Joint Commissioner of Labour will hold the inquiry on Wednesday, 4 November, from 11 am at Anjaiah Karmika Samkshema Bhavan, RTC X Roads, Hyderabad. Mythri has been told to bring every relevant paper. The producers need not come in person: a representative they authorise can appear in their place. The officials will weigh those papers against the rules for child artists.
