The Diwali releases open in theatres on Thursday, 5 November, three days before the festival falls on Sunday, 8 November, when Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 reaches screens across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in its Telugu version. A Telugu family film and a Nayanthara sequel follow on Friday, 6 November, while the streaming platforms add two Telugu films and two dubbed titles between 3 and 6 November.

Ramayana casts Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana and Yash as Ravana. The makers fixed the worldwide date on 11 October for Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, and have kept the second part for Diwali 2027. Prime Focus Studios produces the epic with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations and DNEG, with music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. In the two Telugu states the film is being released by Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC), which announced the deal on social media.

No ticket increase for Ramayana

SVC has chosen not to ask either state government for higher prices. A multiplex seat in Andhra Pradesh costs about Rs 177, with Rs 25 more for 3D, and multiplex tickets in Hyderabad range from Rs 200 to Rs 295. Bookings opened in the third week of October.

The one new Telugu film on the Friday list is Summer Holidays, directed by Srikar and produced by Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainments. Its trailer sets RV, a cricket-loving city boy whose father wants only good ranks, beside KV, a village boy with no taste for books; Master Arun Dev Pothula and Master Rohan play the pair, Jayasudha is their grandmother and Rajeev Kanakala has a key role. On the same day Nayanthara returns as the goddess in Sundar C’s Mookuthi Amman 2, which comes to Telugu screens as Mahasakthi.

Anakapalli and Balu Geetha on streaming

Anakapalli, Khagesh Tammineni’s village crime drama with Vikram Sahidev and Sandhya Vasishta, begins streaming on Sun NXT on Tuesday, 3 November, a month after it opened in theatres on 2 October. ETV Win follows on Thursday, 5 November, with Balu Geetha, a romantic comedy directed by Pratap Kolla Reddy.
