Shooting of Sambarala Yeti Gattu (SYG), the action drama led by Sai Durgha Tej, has been completed, the film’s team announced on Sunday, 18 October. The producers said the shoot ran for more than 160 days, and that the film remains scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 12 January 2027, as a Sankranthi offering.

Rohith KP has written and directed the film. It is produced by K Niranjan Reddy and Chaitanya Reddy under Primeshow Entertainment, the banner behind HanuMan. The team has described SYG as the biggest project of Sai Durgha Tej’s career so far.

A look behind the scenes

To mark the end of filming, the production house released a making video. It offers glimpses of the action sequences being filmed and shows cast and crew celebrating on the final day of the shoot. The clip is the team’s first attempt to give viewers a sense of the film’s action-heavy setting since the release date was fixed.

Cast and crew

Aishwarya Lekshmi plays the female lead opposite Sai Durgha Tej. Senior actors Jagapathi Babu, Srikanth and Sai Kumar have important roles, and Ananya Nagalla and Ravi Krishna are also part of the cast. The producers have not yet named the rest of the supporting cast.

B Ajaneesh Loknath is composing the music, Vetri Palanisamy is the cinematographer and Ayesha Mariam has designed the costumes. The unit has not yet said how far work on the songs and background score has progressed.

In the Sankranthi race

The makers first announced the January date in August through a poster, which Sai Durgha Tej shared on social media with a message to fans that he would see them at Sankranthi. With the shoot now finished, the producers have reaffirmed that date. Sankranthi is the most important release window of the year for Telugu cinema, and several big films usually compete for screens over the holiday.

The team will now move into post-production. Dates for the teaser, trailer and songs have not been announced. With a little under three months to go before release, the makers are expected to step up promotions in the coming weeks, though no schedule for the campaign has been shared.
