‘Maala’, second song from Venkatesh-Trivikram’s ‘Aadarsha Kutumbam’, is out; film still awaits a new date

Thaman S has composed and co-sung the dance number, which features Venkatesh and Nivetha Pethuraj. The film, postponed from 9 October, has no new release date yet.

The makers of Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47, the Venkatesh film directed by Trivikram Srinivas and billed as AK47, released their second single, ‘Maala’, on Monday, 19 October. The lyrical video went out on the Aditya Music YouTube channel, restarting the film’s promotions after its release was put off earlier this month.

Thaman S, who is scoring the film, composed the track and also sings it, along with Dhanunjay Seepana and Ranina Reddy. Ramajogayya Sastry wrote the lyrics, and Bhanu Master choreographed the number. The song is picturised on Venkatesh and Nivetha Pethuraj and is pitched as a festive, upbeat dance piece. Visuals released with the song show the pair on a large, brightly lit set backed by a troupe of dancers.

‘Maala’ follows ‘Narayanamma’, the film’s first single, which was also written by Ramajogayya Sastry and set to Thaman’s music.

The film

Trivikram Srinivas has written and directed the family entertainer. Srinidhi Shetty plays the female lead, and the cast also includes Nara Rohith, Nivetha Pethuraj, Yuvina Parthavi and Raj Prajwal. S Radha Krishna (Chinababu) is producing it under the Haarika & Hassine Creations banner, with Mamatha presenting. The shorter title, AK47, is taken from the house number in the film’s full name. Ravi K Chandran is the cinematographer, Navin Nooli the editor and A S Prakash the art director.

Release date still open

The film has been moved more than once. It was first slated for 2 October and then shifted to 9 October, before that date was dropped as well. Speaking to the media in early October, producer Naga Vamsi said the shoot was complete but the team did not want to rush the release and needed more time on the technical side.

The makers have not announced a new release date.

With the second song out and the promotions back under way, the producers are expected to fix a date once post-production is complete.
