At the Aadarsha Kutumbam pre-release event at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad on the evening of 27 October, Venkatesh spoke about working with Trivikram again. The two made Nuvvu Naaku Nachav and Malliswari together more than two decades ago, with Trivikram as writer, and the new film, which Trivikram directs, opens in theatres on 30 October.

“After films like Nuvvu Naaku Nachav and Malliswari, choosing the right script becomes quite challenging,” Venkatesh said. He described the film as one about how far a man goes to save his family, and summed up its hero’s thinking in one line: “No matter what happens, I must protect my family.” He closed with a cricket line: “Just as our Indian cricketers are hitting sixes, we are going to hit sixes right out of the stadium with this film.” He thanked producers S Radha Krishna and Naga Vamsi. The film is a Haarika and Hassine Creations production with music by Thaman S.

Srinidhi Shetty plays the mother in Aadarsha Kutumbam

Srinidhi Shetty plays Swarna, Venkatesh’s wife and the mother of two teenagers. “Although I play a mother in the film, I never considered turning down the offer,” she said while promoting the film, adding that she had always wanted to work with Trivikram.

She also dismissed talk that she had raised her fee to Rs 7-8 crore a film after KGF. “I have acted in only a few films so far. When that is the case, how can I ask for such a huge amount as remuneration?” she said.

The film’s official trailer is on the Haarika and Hassine Creations channel. In Andhra Pradesh, the government has allowed higher ticket rates and an extra show for the first ten days.
