Railway Recruitment Boards are accepting online applications for 5,236 Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) posts, split between a graduate-level notification that closes on 6 November and a Class 12-level notification that opened on 15 October and runs until 13 November. These Railway NTPC jobs range from goods train managers to ticket and accounts clerks across Indian Railways.

Graduate posts: 3,548 under CEN 06/2026

The Ministry of Railways said in a release on 11 October that the graduate notification covers 3,548 vacancies, up from the 3,477 approved earlier. Goods Train Manager accounts for 2,750 of them, followed by Senior Clerk cum Typist (371), Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist (300) and Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor (127). The supervisor post starts at a basic pay of ₹35,400 a month (Level 6); the other three start at ₹29,200 (Level 5).

Candidates need a degree from a recognised university and must be 18 to 33 years old as on 1 January 2027, with the usual relaxations for reserved categories. The ministry said the computer-based typing skill test has been dropped for the two typist posts, although basic computer and typing skills will be assessed after joining.

Class 12 posts: 1,688 under CEN 07/2026

The undergraduate notification lists 700 Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, 600 Junior Clerk cum Typist, 200 Accounts Clerk cum Typist and 188 Trains Clerk posts. Candidates must have passed Class 12 (Intermediate) or an equivalent and be 18 to 30 years old as on 1 January 2027. The ticket clerk post is at Pay Level 3 (₹21,700 starting basic pay) and the rest at Level 2 (₹19,900). The application fee is ₹500 for general, OBC and EWS candidates and ₹250 for SC, ST, ex-servicemen, PwBD, women, transgender, minority and economically backward class candidates.

Selection in both cases is through two stages of computer-based tests, followed by document verification and a medical examination.

The zone-wise vacancy tables in the two notices give RRB Secunderabad 56 of the graduate posts (31 Goods Train Manager, 10 supervisor, 10 senior clerk and 5 junior accounts assistant) and 72 of the Class 12-level posts. Each candidate can apply to only one RRB, so compare vacancies before choosing a board.
