Who can apply

A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university is enough for eight posts: Municipal Commissioner, Sub-Registrar, Deputy Tahsildar, GST Officer, Excise Sub-Inspector, Deputy MPDO, Assistant Registrar and Assistant Section Officer (General Administration). Assistant Section Officer (Finance) requires a degree in mathematics, economics or commerce, and Assistant Section Officer (Law) a law degree. Senior and Junior Accountant posts call for a degree in commerce, economics or mathematics together with a prescribed computer qualification. Physical standards for the Excise Sub-Inspector post will be in the detailed notification.

The brief notice does not fix the age limit, so wait for the detailed notification before assuming you qualify.

How selection works

Under the scheme in the brief notification, candidates first sit an offline, OMR-based screening test of 150 questions for 150 marks. Those shortlisted take a main examination of two objective papers of 150 marks each, followed by a computer proficiency test where the post requires it and document verification. One-third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer. Exam dates have not been announced.

Key dates

  • Brief notification: 13 October 2026
  • Detailed notification: on or before 10 November 2026

Other APPSC windows now open

Applications for Group-I services (Notification No. 07/2026, 163 posts) close on 27 October. The commission also posted detailed notifications on 16 October for posts including Executive Officer Grade-III in the Endowments department, Forest Beat Officer, Forest Section Officer and Industrial Promotion Officer; check each notice for its own dates.

Watch out: APPSC recruits only through its own examinations. Anyone promising a Group-II post, “leaked” papers or a guaranteed interview for money is running a scam. Use only psc.ap.gov.in and never share your OTPR login or OTP.
