The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission is taking online applications for 166 Group-I posts, from Deputy Collector to Divisional Development Officer, until 11:59 pm on 27 October 2026. The screening test is set for 24 January 2027.

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) is accepting online applications for 166 Group-I posts until 11:59 pm on 27 October 2026. The vacancies, notified under Notification No. 07/2026 dated 6 October, span 13 categories in state departments, from Deputy Collector and Deputy Superintendent of Police to District Educational Officer and Municipal Commissioner. Applications are taken only on the commission’s website, psc.ap.gov.in.
The detailed notification raised the count from the 163 vacancies listed in the brief notice of 15 September. Five of the 166 posts are carried forward from earlier recruitments. The commission says the number may still change: any vacancies that departments add will be accepted only before the screening test, through an addendum.

- Deputy Superintendent of Police (Civil): 36
- Divisional Development Officer, Panchayat Raj: 35
- Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Service: 16

Who can apply
A degree from a recognised university is the basic qualification. DSP (Communications) needs a BE or BTech in electronics and communication, electronics and telecommunication, or radio engineering. Age is counted as on 1 July 2026: 18 to 44 years for most posts, 21 to 30 for DSP (Civil) and 18 to 30 for DSP (Communications). SC, ST, BC and EWS candidates get five years of relaxation, and persons with benchmark disabilities get 10 years. The two police posts also carry height, chest and eyesight standards.
Fee and corrections
Every applicant pays a Rs 250 application processing fee. The Rs 120 examination fee is waived for SC, ST and BC candidates, persons with benchmark disabilities, ex-servicemen, families holding an Andhra Pradesh white ration card, and unemployed youth who file a declaration. Applicants from other states pay both fees and cannot claim reservation. For seven days after the deadline, candidates can correct their forms at Rs 100 per correction, but the name, fee and age-relaxation fields cannot be changed.
Exam schedule
The screening test is scheduled for 24 January 2027 at centres in every district. It is an offline, OMR-based objective test with two papers of 120 marks each, and each wrong answer costs one-third of the marks for that question. Candidates will be called to the Main examination at 50 times the number of vacancies, and its dates will be announced later. The descriptive Main has qualifying papers in Telugu and English and five merit papers of 150 marks each, followed by a 75-mark interview, for a total of 825 marks.
Candidates applying to APPSC for the first time must first create an OTPR (One Time Profile Registration) account on psc.ap.gov.in before they can apply.
