AP DSC 2026: 2,721 teacher posts announced, full notification due by November 3

Andhra Pradesh has announced 2,721 teaching vacancies for AP DSC 2026, its District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment. The School Education Department issued a preliminary notification for the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Recruitment Test (APTRT) 2026 on Tuesday, 13 October, and Education Minister Nara Lokesh publicised it on social media the next day.

All the numbers are provisional and may change. The department says a detailed notification, setting out eligibility, age limits, fees and the application and exam schedule, will follow on or before 3 November.

Where the posts are

Of the 2,721 posts, 2,111 are in general government schools, including those run by zilla parishads, mandal parishads and municipalities. Another 350 are for special education, and 260 are in other educational institutions and societies. The post-wise break-up in the preliminary notice is:

• Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT): 1,205
• School Assistant (SA): 906
• SGT (Special Education): 200
• SA (Special Education): 150
• Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT): 113
• Post Graduate Teacher (PGT): 81
• Physical Education Teacher (PET): 34
• Principal: 30
• Physical Director: 2

Lokesh said the special-education posts were meant to give children with special needs better schooling and more individual attention.

Who can apply

The preliminary notice does not yet list qualifications or age limits for each post. Those details, including the educational and professional qualifications required, will be published in the detailed notification. Candidates should wait for that document before preparing certificates or paying any fee.

How to apply

Applications will be accepted online only, through the department’s TET-to-DSC portal at tet2dsc.apcfss.in, once the detailed notification is out. Check the district-wise and category-wise vacancies on that portal before choosing a post.

Watch out: Applications have not opened yet. Ignore websites, WhatsApp messages or agents offering early registration, coaching-linked “confirmed” posts or help with selection in return for money. Only the official portal accepts DSC applications.
