Kiran Abbavaram’s directorial debut Reality gets its first song, Bhaja Govindam, ahead of 25 December release

The makers of Reality, Kiran Abbavaram's first film as director, have released the devotional video song Bhaja Govindam, sung by Vaikom Vijayalakshmi and composed by Bheems Ceciroleo. The film arrives in cinemas on 25 December.

Kiran Abbavaram’s first film as a director, Reality, has begun its music promotion with a devotional number. The video song Bhaja Govindam was released on 22 October, just over two months before the film reaches theatres on 25 December.

The song

The track is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, with lyrics by Sanare. It is sung by veteran playback singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi. The same melody was used as the background score for the title glimpse of the film, so audiences have already heard its tune without the words.

The video shows Kiran in a relaxed, homely mood, spending time with friends and family. It is the first song to be released from the film.

About the film

Reality was announced in June 2026 under the working title #KA13. Kiran has written the story and screenplay as well as directing it, and he plays the lead. Devika Bhat is the heroine. Sudhakar Chaganti produces it under the Joy Films banner.

The title glimpse, released earlier in October, runs for about a minute. It introduces Kiran as a cheerful young man who helps out at his family’s restaurant and makes appadams with his relatives on a terrace. The film’s first schedule was being completed in Machilipatnam at that time.

A crowded Christmas

The makers have marked 25 December, the Christmas holiday, for the release. A festival date gives the film a long weekend, though it will also have to share screens with other year-end releases. For a first-time director who is also the hero, the song campaign is the first real test of how much audience interest the film can build before then.

Kiran Abbavaram has built his career on small-town, family-centred roles, and the glimpse and the song both keep to that image. The makers have not yet announced a trailer date or further songs.
