Dil Raju’s SVC to release Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
Sri Venkateswara Creations has taken the theatrical rights to the Ranbir Kapoor-Yash-Sai Pallavi epic for both Telugu states, with a Hyderabad pre-release event set for 19 October and the film opening on 5 November.

Producer Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC) will handle the Ramayana Telugu release, taking director Nitesh Tiwari’s large-scale adaptation of the epic to cinemas across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the banner announced on Monday, 19 October.
The film is due in theatres on 5 November 2026. In a post on X, SVC said it was “proud to bring this epic #Ramayana across AP & TG”. A poster released with the announcement carries the line “SVC Release” for the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana territory. Neither the banner nor the producers have disclosed what SVC paid for the rights.
The cast and the makers
Ranbir Kapoor leads the cast as Rama, with Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh and Arun Govil are also in the ensemble. A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer are associated with the music.
The project is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios together with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, and the visual effects company DNEG is also credited. According to the official poster, the film will be released in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, in 3D and premium large formats including IMAX, with Sony Pictures handling international distribution.
Why the Ramayana Telugu release deal matters
The two Telugu states are among the country’s biggest theatrical markets, and a release through an established local distributor gives a Hindi-led production wider screen access there. SVC is one of Tollywood’s best-known production and distribution houses, and the banner has promised a wide release in the two states. Details of the screen count have not been announced.
Hyderabad event and bookings
The makers had lined up a pre-release event for the evening of 19 October at JRC Convention in Hyderabad. Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh and Ravi Dubey were expected to attend, along with Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra.
Advance bookings in India open on Tuesday, 20 October, Vijayadashami. The 5 November opening places the film in the Diwali season, 16 days after bookings begin.
