The Union Public Service Commission declared the UPSC Civil Services Mains result for 2026 on the evening of Thursday, 5 November, clearing the qualified candidates for the personality test. That interview round decides the final ranks for the IAS, IFS, IPS and the Central Group A and Group B services.

The commission put out the list by roll number alone. The written papers ran from 21 to 30 August, and 13,343 candidates had earned a place in them after the preliminary test on 24 May.

Detailed form from 11 November

Every candidate on the list must fill in and submit the Detailed Application Form on upsconline.nic.in between Wednesday, 11 November and 6 pm on Wednesday, 25 November. It asks for service and cadre preferences, home cadre, education, job experience, parents’ details and a socio-economic questionnaire. Those with nothing new to add still have to log in, check every entry and press submit. Anyone who misses the window will not get an interview call letter.

Candidates who wrote the preliminary test while still waiting for their degree results must now upload proof that they passed the qualifying examination. Their candidature will be cancelled if they do not.

Certificates and interview dates

All names on the list stay provisional until UPSC confirms eligibility. At the interview, candidates must show original certificates for age, education and any reservation or disability claim. Certificates backing SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwBD claims must carry an issue date on or before 27 February 2026, the closing date for preliminary applications.

The interviews will be held at Dholpur House on Shahjahan Road in New Delhi. UPSC said the schedule will be announced later and that e-summon letters will be posted only on upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in, with no paper copies. Requests to shift an allotted date will not normally be accepted. Candidates whose postal address or phone number has changed must write to the commission within seven days of the 5 November notice.

Each qualified candidate must also file an attestation form on the Department of Personnel and Training portal while the interviews are on. Mark sheets of all candidates will go up on the UPSC website within 15 days of the final result and remain there for 30 days.
