Telangana schools return to class on 23 October after Dasara break
Schools in Telangana reopen on 23 October after a 13-day Dasara vacation from 10 to 22 October. Junior colleges have a shorter break and reopen on 22 October.

Schools across Telangana reopen on Friday, 23 October, at the end of a 13-day Dasara vacation that began on 10 October and runs until 22 October. The School Education Department fixed the dates for schools under every management, so government, aided and private schools follow the same calendar.
The holidays started on Saturday, 10 October, the day after the first round of Summative Assessment (SA-1) examinations ended on 9 October. The 13-day count includes both the first and the last day of the break. Students who spent the festival in their home towns are due back in class on the reopening day.
Junior colleges on a separate calendar
Intermediate colleges follow the academic calendar of the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education, not the school calendar. Their Dasara holidays run from 10 to 21 October, one day shorter, and junior colleges reopen on 22 October.
Once the vacation is over, regular classes resume for the rest of the 2026–27 academic year.
